Camera Assistant
 

Assist the camera operators to record sports related activities.

Duties 
  • Preparing the camera and lenses
  • Preparing and maintaining camera equipment
  • Assisting the Cameramen/women including completing any required paperwork
  • Assisting the ENG camera operators

Audio Assistant
 

Audio Assistants provide general backup and support to the Audio technicians at the IBC and the event venues.

Duties 
  • Helping with set up and tear down of sound/audio equipment
  • Maintenance of audio receivers
  • Ensure Audio files are correctly labelled and stored
  • Assist Audio Technicians operate, monitor, and adjust audio equipment to regulate the sounds and ensure quality for television broadcasts
  • Assist conversion of audio records to digital formats for editing

Engineering Assistant
 

Based at the event venues or at the IBC, the engineering assistants are responsible for supporting the Broadcast Engineers in laying the infrastructure for the broadcast operations.

Duties 
  • Assist with the set-up of broadcast equipment and servers
  • Assist with technical planning of the broadcast engineering plans
  • Assist with cabling
  • Assist with completing engineering logs and paperwork as requested
Skills 
  • Prefer students of broadcast engineering for the role
  • Detail-oriented
  • A creative approach to problem solving

Loggers
 

The entire 18th Asian Games Jakarta Palembang 2018 content server will be managed and operated using the latest state-of-the-art digital technology to record and log all competition and non-competition content. A large dedicated area will be set up to coordinate, ingest, record and publish content. It will also coordinate the management of the content structure, the media logging, content recommendations to the RHBs, and the liaison with the translation unit and the publication team.

A team will oversee the operation with a number of feed loggers. Each logger will take responsibility for a log of the event they have been assigned to, which will be made available via shared drives to the edit facilities for compilation into the programmes.

Based at the IBC, working with the Core Team staff.

Duties 
  • Responsible for all logging of competition recordings
  • Update all logs
  • Ensure the logs match exactly as per the feed times
  • Send the logs to the Team Leader
Skills

Venue Assistant
 

Based at the Venue, working with the Venue Manager.

Duties 
  • Assist the broadcasters with any accreditation difficulties
  • Assist in the Press Conference & Mixed Zone (MZ) access control
  • Keep the Venue Manager informed of any developments or problems that may arise whilst he/she is off site
  • General office administration such as checking reports, copying and faxing
Skills 
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Good computer knowledge

Contribution Distribution Transmission - CDT
 

Assist in providing technical support at the IBC and venues.

Duties 
  • Assist with coordination of the technical set up of all general technical facilities
  • Assist with general technical issues during event time
  • Assist in coordination of Master Control Room (MCR), Commentary Switching Centre (CSC) and Quality Control Room (QCR)
Skills 
  • Audio visual/Technical/Broadcast Engineering background
  • Good knowledge of English language
  • Be organised and able to work well under pressure
  • Able to maintain a high level of concentration
Off-Tube/Commentary Assistants
 

Provide general backup and support to the Audio Masters at the IBC and the event venues.

Duties 
  • Assist in gathering, assembling and testing various audio components
  • Ensure Audio files are correctly labelled and stored
  • Helping set up and troubleshoot audio equipment
  • Assist in monitoring and adjusting the audio equipment to regulate the sounds and ensure quality for television broadcasts

IBC Information Assistant
 

Based at the IBC, working with the Core Team.

Duties 
  • Assist with office set up
  • Assist the core team in all daily tasks
  • Organise transportation and prepare daily schedules, organise lunch vouchers, general errands, etc.
  • Translation services (English to local language and vice versa)
Skills 
  • Good knowledge of the English language, another language would be an asset
  • Good computer knowledge

Logistics Assistant
 

Based at the IBC and assisting the logistics team.

Duties 
  • Assist in the logistical needs and delivery of equipment
  • Monitor and facilitate various activities of the department
  • Check and maintain records and documents
Skills 
  • Background in Business, Administration or Communication
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, particularly Windows, Excel & Outlook)

Construction Assistant
 

To support the Construction department at the International Broadcast Centre.

Duties 
  • Prepare and participate in user handovers of the IBC premises
  • Administrate and file all handover documentation
  • Join Orientation Session preparations and IBC operational training
  • Staff the IBC Construction Help Desk
  • Receive IBC users’ requests and organise a suitable follow up in cooperation with the maintenance technicians
  • Administrate and file all maintenance documentation
  • Participate in the IBC broadcaster departure preparations
  • Participate in the handback process of the IBC premises once users are leaving
  • Administer and file all handback documentation
  • Participate in the IBC dismantling preparations
Skills 
  • Background in Construction engineering or Architecture

Booking Assistant
 

Based at the IBC and working with two departmental groups, a Front Office or a Back Office.

Duties 
  • Assist the Front Office in overall communication
  • Online maintenance of files and databases
  • Support to the customer-/service-oriented activities of the department
  • Assist the Back Office in allocation of requests for services
Skills 
  • Background in Business or Communication

Legacy Assistant
 

Work with Legacy team based in Jakarta.

  • Assist the Training manager with intern workshops

Liaison/Information
 

Work closely with the broadcast liaison staff and information.

  • Assist and coordinate unilateral services with both fixed and roving teams at venues
  • Help in delivering broadcast-related information and associated services
